Fine Art Photographer Rob Travis Selected First Place Winner

Transylvania County photographer Rob Travis was selected as first place winner in the “Floral” category in The 13th Annual Mountains In Bloom Flower Show and Photography Competition, recently held at the Bascom Center for the Visual Arts in Highlands, NC.

Judging for this July to August 2012 event was held on July 7th, 2012. All the entered photography will be exhibited in the Bascom Center until August 5th, 2012.

This regional photography competition received over seventy entries in two  different categories which included “Focus on Flora” and “Scenic Settings”.

Mr. Clay Bolt, an award-winning natural history and conservation photographer from Greenville, SC judged the competition. His work has been featured by The Nature Conservancy, Scientific American, Outdoor Photographer, Audubon Magazine, The Telegraph, Outdoor Photography and Digital Photographer among others.

Travis is a digital photographer whose work is exhibited throughout the year at the Glass Feather Studio Gallery in Cedar Mountain, NC.  He takes images of the majestic and the minute – always seeking to capture the spirit within.
